Damsa Boulevard Entertainment City, Lusail, Qatar

An exclusive private members’ club set within the Waldorf Astoria Lusail in Doha.
Spanning three levels, the project showcases the studio’s signature approach to contemporary luxury, blending modern design with subtle references to Qatar’s landscape, culture and shoreline.

The quietest rooms at Eleven belong to its members. On the first floor of the club at the Waldorf Astoria Lusail, the Members’ Lounge and Cigar Bar sit above the tempo of the brasserie and the Club — rooms designed for conversation, work and the slower rituals of a Doha day.

The Lounge continues the language of the mezzanine below in a calmer register: pale oak timber, Avocactus Green held against soft sand-cream, and screens made for the room that give privacy to a meeting or a gathering without closing it off.
It extends a set of spaces designed for the working day — a library and meeting room on the mezzanine, in pale oak and sand-dune white with carpets designed by the studio, that bring the ease of a contemporary home to the club.

The Cigar Bar takes a familiar type somewhere new. In place of the straight, dark lines the room usually inherits, its walnut walls curve and undulate; deep blue Tiger leather adds depth of tone; and lights of alabaster and glass are set through the room like jewels. At the Members’ Bar, a counter of Ocean Storm marble stands against the dark timber joinery — the room’s cool centre.
