Shayne Brady

87–135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London, SW1X 7XL

A secret garden above the city. An alfresco bar with poetry and purpose. An oasis of calm to relax in.

Hidden among the fourth-floor rooftops of Harrods, the Perrier-Jouët Champagne Terrace reimagines the department store’s conservatory as a lush, Art Nouveau-inspired sanctuary. Designed in collaboration with Harrods, the space is a celebration of elegance and nature.

STUDIO Shayne Brady’s concept draws on the Belle Epoque heritage of Perrier-Jouët and the ornate character of Harrods’ listed façade.

Here, soft curves and feminine lines evoke an age of timeless glamour, while layers of rich materiality and immersive planting root the experience firmly in the now. It’s a mix of refined timelessness, British eccentricity and a hint of Oriental femininity. Cracked red lacquer table tops nod to Oriental artistry. Mirror and lighting enhance the surrounding architecture. Every detail is an invitation to linger.

The terrace includes a openable façade and outdoor seating for 32, with heated seat pads and bespoke furniture designed in-house. Embracing the fluidity of a Victorian garden path, the layout meanders gently through planting and light – creating a world within a world, above one of London’s busiest department stores.

“Even under the most demanding of circumstances working with Shayne & the team has always been a pleasure. The team blend luxury design kudos with commercial sensitivity and are willing to work with us as a client to provide a beautiful project that meets all expectations – by no means a mean feat!”
